This year, we have registration from 407 competitors from 17 Schools who have signed up for a total of more than 2200 entries.

Each year, the Purdue Ballroom Dance Classic at Purdue University attracts collegiate and adult competitors to W. Lafayette to challenge their skills in front of our nationally ranked and certified judging panel. 

 
Last year, several hundred spectators came to witness the events, including the Mayor of West Lafayette, the President of Purdue University, the Journal & Courier, and the Exponent.

 
Ballroom dancing is booming nationwide, and with the continued exposure of dancing in the media, we expect the event to continue to grow.  Next year, we will need to expand our event into a second ballroom in the Union.

 
Many competitors come to our comp to prepare for the collegiate dance nationals which occur the week after our event in Ohio, at which the Purdue team has consistently ranked 1st or 2nd place each year. 

 
For our 11th Anniversary we will be featuring the same electronic score keeping system which is used at that national event, to make results available almost immediately.
