Daniel & Yuehwern
(Faculty Advisor)
Professional
American Rhythm Competitors
Daniel and Yuehwern have EACH been dancing ballroom about 14 years, receiving coaching from Dan &
Nicole for most of that time.
As head coaches,
besides teaching occasionally, their primary job is to establish and maintain relationships with top professional instructors,
encouraging them to visit the team.
Daniel is a Purdue CS alumni, and Yuehwern is our faculty advisor from the IE department. Before ballroom,
Yuehwern danced Ballet and Daniel was dabbling in hip hop and breakdance
and competing as a stage magician.
They met on the Purdue Dance
Team in 98, and after a few years, partnership turned to marriage, and they have been dancing together since.
At the 2009 U.S. National competition, they took
2nd place in the Open American Rhythm Championships, after which they declared Pro Status in June 2009.
They are currently competing around the country in the Professional American Rhythm Events.

is a dance team alumnus who has competed in Latin style for many years. She has trained with Jean Marc (Choreographer

Like many of us, most of what she learned came straight from private lessons with Dan Rutherford and Nicole Carroll, our coaches.
If you think her class is too easy, just tell her. She knows a thousand ways to kick your @$$, and she will punish you.
