Daniel & Yuehwern (Faculty Advisor) Professional American Rhythm Competitors, Adjudicators, and Scrutineers   As head coaches of the Purdue Ballroom team, Daniel and Yuehwern can currently be seen competing in Professional American Rhythm Events around the country.  When the team was invited to compete on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, they coached the dancers to a 1st round victory, and Choreographed the outstanding Cha Cha for the finale.   Yuehwern and Daniel are both certified adjudicators by the North American Dancesport Teachers Association (NADTA), and certified Scrutineers with the National Dance Council of America (NDCA). Daniel is a Purdue CS alumni, and Yuehwern is our faculty advisor from the IE department.  Before ballroom, Yuehwern was a principal company member of the Lafayette Ballet Company, and Daniel was dabbling in hip hop and breakdance and competing as a stage magician. They met on the Purdue Dance Team in 98, and after a few years, partnership turned to marriage, and they have been dancing together since. Daniel and Yuehwern have each been dancing ballroom well over 15 years. As head coaches, besides teaching lessons, their primary job is to establish and maintain relationships with top professional instructors, encouraging them to visit the team. Gert and Kirsti Roslender Gert and Kirsti Roslender began their ballroom dancing career over twenty years ago, starting as young teens in Estonia, ultimately representing their home country in European and World Chanpionships five times. The Roslenders came to the United States in 1998, where they continued their professional careers by participating in more than 100 competitions, becoming United States Rising Star Standard Champions and Open Standard Grand Finalists. They are certified by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), North American Teachers Association (NATA) and the National Dance Coucil of America (NDCA), placing them in an elite category of ballroom dance instructors worldwide who have attained these designations. Gert and Kirsti are fulltime ballroom dance instructors who also perform professional dance shows.  Their students are top-ranked competitors, both nationally and regionally. http://www.roslender-ballroom.com
